Technique

B&W film photography.

Presentation

Is it feasible to break the linearity of time? Is it possible to return, to bend time on our whim, and manage to blend together two moments into one?

It is only photography’s fiction, this “art of possibilities” -which always surpasses the existent- that can work such a miracle…

Nonetheless, I look at the photos and it becomes evident that the objects they represent are not such. I myself -the individual taking the photographs- do not exist as I did in that moment… The irreversible flow of time constantly faces me with this disencounter.

Photography leaves this trace, this poetic and tragic light-shaped evocation. It leaves us with our imagination, hiding what it desires to expose.

Through the double exposition technique, the photo portfolio “Disencounters” tries to look into the concepts of the irreversible and the never-ending, two specific and necessary elements for an aesthetics of photography.
